in case it matters, this is where the rest of the babble will be shared when there is more to share (and as a babbler, there are almost always more words to share). You can find a summary of the major changes that brought on this new two-step daily blog in the first entry of this blog and more information on the right so for now let's dive right into the rest of the babble about life as I seem to live and know it...
Curly may check the electric tomorrow or soon, but it's a big job of cutting into the cieling because the last person who rented the place split (and stole) some wires and all the fixtures and may have left some open in the ceiling so turning on power to the rooms is not a good idea until the wiring is checked. A second line would be good as a fridge and microwave (and all the lights and anything else) can't be on the same line. So still preparing for cold food and cold water at the moment. We definitely will not hook up the dryer and the washer is just a possibility down the road, so preparing for laudromats too. Playing softball four or five times a week means a lot of washing and without hot water and just a small bathroom sink and shower, stinky dirty softball clothes need a good wash. Am I complaining? I have a free place to sleep, so I can shower at the gym and wash clothes at the laundromat and eat cold food and be very thankful for curly's generosity. So I am preparing, not complaining, yup.
Actually, I fell asleep shortly after getting home after eating at the nearby chinese buffet. Treating Curly is and helping him with his work is part of my thank you to him, though I must slow down on the spending. I mean, I am choosing to live without cable TV (maybe without TV) or other luxuries most people in this country take for granted for a while because I am looking for a job partly because burning through savings while living with Jackson the last seven or so years has depleted my retirement funds and basically cancelled any retirement plans. So eating at restaurants, no less treating someone, is not wise. Still, I want to keep showing Curly my appreciation so I'll offer to help him with work more as long as I currently have free time. Still must remember to job search and send out resumes though.
Falling asleep didn't last long. I woke after a couple of hours and started for bed, but noticed the phone did not take a charge because the computer was sleeping and the USB ports are off when it's sleeping and I use the computer to charge the phone because I left my charger at Helen's house with my overnight bag when I was house sitting for her a couple of weekends ago. I was still going to sleep when my bowels asked for release and the phone told me I was going to lose the Ruzzle game or the Words with Friends games in progress because I've been busy and have not had time to play so I played the games (for one it was too late so the game resigned me) and then laid down in the recliner so the phone could charge (I didn't feel like unplugging the laptop and replugging it in in the bedroom which is a necessity because the battery is old and useless (both the phone and battery need replacing, but not until I find a job). Anyway, by then I was awake.
I laid there a bit but decided to continue packing after about ten minutes. What time is it?
Maybe I should get some sleep now, aye?
